Chinese opera needs support and appreciation of everybody.

 

For appreciation of Chinese opera, some like to watch, others like to hear, and still others like to quietly taste it.Some people open eyes widely and pay all attention to the details of the strong movements on the stage.Audience claps and say Bravo, even think over all the time when go back home.Definitely, not all people walking into theater know about Chinese opera.However, learning something about life lessons from the plot is still a precious thing.

Experience the instruments of the literary and martial setting.

 

In the visit, President Chen not only introduced the roles of sheng, tan, ching, and chou in the Chinese opera,but alos mentioned the influence of some major actors toward the development of Chinese opera.He also introduced the often used instruments of present opera.Like for instance, if for literary setting, the instruments are normally hu-chin (Chinese viola), yueh-chin (Chinese banjo), and erh-hu (Chinese fiddle); if it is the martial setting, there are mostly bongo and bass gong.In addition, he introduced the vocal of actors.President Chen told us, with different music tempo there would be different way of singing, which represents the emotions of the actor,such as happiness, sadness, anger and enjoyment.This sounds interesting.Through the careful introduction of the President, we not only experienced the wonderfulness of the Chinese opera, but changed our impression to it.

 

In the past, we always considered that opera is dull and for elderly people.But knowing it better, then one may find that appreciating Chinese opera is not only an abundant art, but also an interesting entertainment.We wish in this section “Chinese Opera School”,we may lead you to know the basics of the Chinese opera: actor and role, opera instruments, singing vocals, and the famous “four hsu sheng” (aged man role) and the “four well-known tan” (female role).Please visit the beauty of traditional Chinese opera with delightful mood.
