戲曲表演資訊

We often perceive watching traditional opera as a leisure activity for the elderly, rather than a pastime for young people. However, finding ways to attract younger audiences to appreciate opera is a crucial issue for traditional opera today. Due to the prevalence of electronic entertainment, such as movies, television, and online content, there are numerous convenient options that can be enjoyed at home without the need to go out. Consequently, the fundamental issues facing traditional opera are the decreasing performance opportunities for performers and the shrinking audience base. As a result, troupes must adapt to these trends by changing their performance content and style while integrating multimedia to enhance visual and auditory appeal. This approach is essential for attracting more youth audiences.

During our visit to the National Taiwan College of Performing Arts, we gained a deeper understanding of various aspects of traditional opera, such as performance styles, character roles, musical instruments, and the foundational skills of performers. Additionally, we learned more about the cultural and artistic significance of traditional opera. In particular, traditional opera has undergone a variety of innovative changes, incorporating diverse elements such as theater, visual arts, and dance to showcase the creativity and innovation within the art form. Traditional opera has gradually embraced professional scriptwriting and directing. Through professional scriptwriting and direction, more diverse creations can be developed, enhancing both the brilliance and visual appeal of traditional opera. This strategy helps inspire greater appreciation for the art form and ultimately expands its audience base.
