1. Has there been any difference between the past and present approaches to designing the opera courses at the school?

Answer: The traditional opera courses at the Taiwan College of Performing Arts, both past and present, aim to train professional performers. Like regular schools, students first learn basic subjects such as Chinese, English, and Math. In addition to learning professional courses like scriptwriting, stage design, and opera directing, current courses integrate technological applications, such as multimedia technology, stage design, and lighting and sound techniques. This allows students to understand how to leverage technology to enhance performance effects on modern stages. Furthermore, international exchange activities are arranged to provide students with opportunities to participate in performances and exchanges, broadening their international perspectives.

2. How does the school arrange performance opportunities for students outside of the school?

Answer: The school usually arranges off-campus performance opportunities for students through several methods to provide them with more performance opportunities. For example, the school collaborates with local cultural institutions, theaters, concert halls, etc., to arrange for students to participate in various performances. It also encourages students to take part in art festivals and competitions. This not only provides a stage for performances but also allow students to exchange and learn from others. Additionally, the school collaborates with communities to involve students in activities such as local cultural festivals and public welfare, increasing performance opportunities for students and enhancing their confidence and performance skills.

3. How does the school guide students in pursuing further education and development opportunities?

Answer: The school typically guides students in pursuing further education and development through various methods. For example, the school has dedicated career counseling teachers who help students understand their interests, abilities, and career inclinations, providing advice on further education and career planning. The school also regularly organizes further education seminars and workshops, inviting university professors, professionals, and alumni to share their experiences. This helps students understand different pathways for further education and career options. Additionally, the school provides various learning resources, tutoring, mock interviews, and application guidance to help students improve their academic performance and prepare university application documents and interviews. In terms of career guidance, it arranges internships with external performance groups, enabling students to gain practical experience and increase their career development opportunities.

4. How does the school promote traditional opera and increase public recognition and appreciation of the beauty of opera arts?

Answer: To promote traditional opera and increase public recognition and appreciation of art form, the school employs the following methods:
(1)Campus Tours:The school arranges opera troupe performances on various campuses, allowing students to experience and appreciate traditional opera performances up close.
(2)Opera Workshops:The school arranges for its teachers and students to teach basic opera skills, such as singing melodies, body movements and acting, in other schools or communities. This allows the public to personally experience the charm of traditional opera.
(3)Participation in External Activities:The school arranges for students to participate in off-campus arts activities, providing them with a platform to showcase their talents while attracting more people to focus on and engage with opera activities.

5. Does the school, in addition to training students to become professional opera performers, also integrate other areas of professional training?

Answer: In addition to training students to become professional opera performers, the school integrates other specialized fields to provide students with more diverse development opportunities. The school typically combines opera education with other subjects, such as literature, history, music, and dance, enabling students to acquire knowledge and skills in these related fields while studying opera. Additionally, the school encourages students to develop secondary specializations, such as multimedia animation, scriptwriting, and directing. This approach allows graduates to find opportunities not only in opera performance but also in related fields. Therefore, the systematic guidance provided by the school not only enhances students' expertise but also helps them explore development directions in diverse fields.
